There are only about 40 comments so far. Have fun.
UPDATE 2 AM 4TH SEPTEMBER
Well, this is very interesting. Out of 98 comments, the number in favour of Soubry is …. about two, and even those are obviously from Tobacco Control ‘Experts’. It is easy to tell because of the ‘expert’ use of generalisations which link unconnected ideas. For example there is this:
“People start smoking in their teens and, except for a handful of cases, we see the first cancers in their fifties“.
It is very easy to miss the ‘disconnect’. In the first place, the number of LUNG cancers in people in their fifties is very small, much too small to be caused by smoking alone. In the second place, the number of lung cancers in the population as a whole below 50 is minuscule. In the third place, there is an obvious attempt to associate “we see the first cancers in their fifties” with “People start smoking in their teens”. Typical Zealot propaganda tricks. But there were only 2 comments out of the 98 which were slightly defensive of Soubry. Even one of those admitted that SHS danger is weak.
If Cameron does not see that the Zealots have shot their bolt, then he is even more out of touch than I thought. I was under the impression that Prime Ministers had advisers, who kept them in touch. Clearly, that is not the case in this instance.
