This has to be a quick post because I must to bed.
We have seen, in respect of the smoking ban, that politicians are not capable of governing. Maybe a hundred years ago, they were; but they are not now. The obvious and immediate reason is that the situation in the world and in this country is far too complex for them to understand. Thus, they are at the mercy of ‘Experts’.
Is it not weird that the Prime Minister, Mister Cameron, wishes to change the meaning of the word ‘MARRIAGE’? Almost nobody in the UK wants the word ‘marriage’ to mean other than ‘the union of a MAN and a WOMAN with the intention of creating a family’. It is possible for two men or two women to create such a unity, but there is no need to corrupt the meaning of the word ‘marriage’ to do so. There is no reason that such unions should not have another word.
I have tried my best to think of an appropriate word, but I cannot. Well, not one that has any dignity.
But why does not the Prime Minster, Mister Cameron, along with other Minsters in the Cabinet, just say, “Erm… We’ll think about it”
In fact, when the idiotic Health Minister, Patricia Hewitt, ably abetted by Caroline Flint, suggested in Cabinet that a smoking ban should be imposed upon The People, did not the Prime Minister of the time, Tony (darling) Blair not just say, “Erm”? It is easy to say, “Erm”. I do it all the time. When anyone appears at my door asking me about double glazing or whatever, I say, “Erm….. No thanks. Goodbye” What is the problem?

VERY TRUE AND ACCURATE.
